David A. Norman was born in Mount Pleasant, Texas in 1953 to the late L.C. and Jimmie Ann Norman. He received Christ as his Lord and Savior and received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost at the age of 12.

He graduated from Kennedy High School in Barstow, California and continued his education to earn his BA in Social Work, MBA in Business Administration, Teacher and Administrative Credentials. He continues to work in education as the Assistant Principal at the Barstow Jr. High School and plans to retire in June 2019.

Elder Norman accepted his call into the ministry in 1980 under the leadership of the late Bishop Nathaniel Jones, Jr., Founder of the Barstow Church of God in Christ. He continued faithfully in all facets of ministry and was elevated to Pastor in January of 1990. He served under Bishop Jones’ tutorship and succeeded him as the Senior Pastor of Barstow Church of God in Christ in 2001.

In 2006, Pastor Norman was appointed to the position of Superintendent in the Southern California Fourth Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction under the leadership of Bishop Roy Dixon, where he also serves as the Chief Financial Officer.

Superintendent Norman met and married the former Naomi Davis, who made her flight to glory on May 18, 2019. They were blessed with twin sons, Malcolm and Martin, and four grandchildren.
